Sam Walker is a hugely experienced data professional in managing all facets of data, and has a successful track record spanning over 20 years working within data.

Setfords Law 2019-2023

• Data

Sam engaged with Setfords primarily as a data consultant, and later on Chief Data Officer. Sam was initially involved in data technology delivery projects and then later as the Chief Data Officer where he built from ground-up data lakehouse and reporting solution to house all of Setfords business data with a Databricks medallion architecture. This was coupled with a large number of visuals, insights, calculations, and reports to truly make Setfords data-driven and bring the data to the fingertips of the key stakeholders and board.

FE-Fundinfo 2000-2018

• Data

Sam was Data Director at a major UK fund data vendor (FE-Fundinfo), where he architected and owned the fund dataset and operations from which the company thrived on. As well as the full data ownership, Sam was involved in many other areas.

• Products

  • Sam had built many software products from scratch including the award winning FE-Analytics, and FE-FinXL.

• Quants
  With Sam's expertise in quantitative analysis, he designed and built the quants for the

  • FE ratings: Crown, and Alpha Manager

  • FE Invest portfolio optimiser: Award winning and second largest MPS provider in the UK (2023)

  • Regulatory Calculations: Built from ground up calculations required for UCITS/PRIIPS/MIFID (SRRI/SRI/RIY/Performance scenarios)
